A day in the life of a Sydney recruiter

There are many great reasons to move your recruitment career to Sydney, but perhaps the biggest one of all is the lifestyle offered by many of the city's beachside suburbs. 

One of the hottest places to live is on the North Shore, in Manly, where the beautiful beaches and myriad of shops, restaurants and bars provide endless opportunity for you to take advantage of a flexible working environment. So what is normal day like in a Sydney recruitment agency?

6:30 a.m.

Wake up and head to the beach for your morning run on the sand. Walk, swim or surf, enjoying the sunrise and crisp salt air.

7:30 a.m.

Never have to sit in traffic again. Jump on an 18 minute fast ferry into the CBD, stopping on the way to the wharf to grab a world-class coffee from a local cafe. Sip your beverage as you sail past the Sydney Opera House and the bustling Harbour Bridge every morning.

8:00 a.m.

Feeling energised after the coffee and exercise, get to work and put in some power hours until lunch.

12:00 p.m.

With the option to take your breaks whenever you want, head out of the office to have lunch with friends, hit the gym, head to the botanical gardens for a walk, do a spot of shopping, or crack on through and leave early.

1:00 p.m.

Back in the office and ready for a productive and profitable afternoon, balancing candidates and clients with resourcing and core business development. Plan for tomorrow before you head home.

5:00 p.m.

Having put in a profitable eight hours, knock off work and relax on the ferry ride home, soaking in the late afternoon sun or watching the sunset over the bridge (depending on the season and time of day).

Hit the beach for a sunset surf - with most people still commuting home from work, you pretty much have the waves to yourself.6:00 p.m.

7:00 p.m.

It's dinner time, and you have the choice of dinner out in Manly with friends. A particular favourite of mine is sitting down on the wharf at Hugo's eating pizza, lingering over a glass of wine in a world class restaurant with a world class view of the water. Alternatively, choose to stay in and put your feet up for some good quality rest and relaxation.

Managing your own time means you can mix this up, perhaps getting into the office early before anyone else arrives and leaving early to get the rest of the afternoon on the beach. Otherwise, enjoy a two hour surf in the morning and get into work late, and avoid the lunchtime rush at the gym by having it all to yourself at three in the afternoon. Whatever it means to you, the possibilities are endless.
