Join the Finance and Business Services team within the Local Government where your contribution will directly support better outcomes for NSW communities. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while supporting the delivery of essential services to local government.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Perform end-to-end processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment reconciliations.
- Support monthly and annual financial processes including accruals, asset management, inter-company transactions, and statutory reporting.
- Assist in project accounting—budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Maintain financial records using our document management system, Objective, and financial systems including SAP.
What We're Looking For
We’re seeking a driven and detail-oriented professional with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar finance role.
- Hands-on experience using SAP FI and MM modules.
- Advanced Excel skills and a knack for data accuracy and process efficiency.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- The ability to work autonomously in a high-volume transaction environment.
MUST HAVE clear police check, Australian Permanent Residency or citizenship and reside in NSW.
