Lead System Administrator

  • €70k-€80k/Year + Bonus + Benefits
  • Hybrid role - 3 days/week on site - South Dublin location

Role Overview:
The Lead Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and improving the ICT infrastructure and applications across the organization. This position plays a crucial role in optimizing business processes through technology, ensuring system security, managing IT procurement, and supporting strategic planning for future technology integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote ICT as an enabler of productivity and business process improvements across the organization.
  • Manage procurement of IT hardware and software, providing advice on future infrastructure requirements.
  • Oversee the IT budget under the guidance of the IT Director and CFO.
  • Implement and manage IT security protocols to reduce the risk of data loss and system damage, including antivirus management, encryption of portable devices, and firewall management across multiple locations.
  • Lead and plan new systems development projects, including CRM software integration and migration to cloud-based solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with system licensing obligations, tracking ICT assets and reporting on infrastructure status.
  • Manage third-party IT suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of IT products and services.
  • Develop and deliver a continuous improvement plan for ICT services and solutions.
  • Maintain, update, and monitor adherence to company ICT policies and procedures.
  • Research and recommend new technologies that could enhance business operations, staying up-to-date with current industry developments.
  • Provide strategic ICT planning and implementation support.
  • Advise key stakeholders and business owners on all aspects of ICT.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including data protection laws.
  • Manage ICT risk and asset registers.
  • Administer software and OS licenses, with a focus on effective software license management.
  • Oversee migration and ongoing management of cloud environments.
  • Manage the company's website and related online infrastructure.
  • Represent the company at industry seminars and collaborations (e.g., CITA).
  • Manage relationships with internet providers, including redundancy service providers.

Technical  & Interpersonal Requirements:

  • Windows Server experience, including server installations, migrations, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Active Directory administration and management.
  • Office 365 administration and associated applications.
  • Firewall configuration experience (preferably with SonicWall).
  • Experience working with CRM systems, including administration and reporting.
  • Experience with cloud-based server/application management.
  • Experience in website administration and management.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the IT sector, with at least two years in a leadership or management role.
  • A proven record of achievement, including successful management experience and the ability to influence organizational change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in creating and presenting proposals for business improvements.
  • In-depth knowledge of current ICT developments and future trends.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Well-informed on GDPR and data protection responsibilities.
  • Experience in end-user training with strong presentation skills.
  • A full, clean driving license is required as occasional travel to other office locations may be necessary.
